About

Kaplnková hora (Hungarian: Kápolna-hegy) is a basic shelter in the Cerová vrchovina at 685 m, open year-round and free to use. Sits near Mount Karanč, the highest peak in the Cerová range, on the Novohrad ridge trail — the only formal shelter on the main ridge in this area. Built next to an old pilgrimage chapel of St. Margaret (Szent Margit) on the summit plateau, used historically as a rest stop for pilgrims. Bring your own sleeping gear.
