By using bivigo.app you agree to these terms. They’re short on purpose.

What Bivigo is

Bivigo is a map-based directory of mountain huts, bivouacs, and shelters across Central Europe. It aggregates publicly available information from official sources and presents it in one place.

Use of the service

You may use Bivigo for personal trip planning, research, and discovery. You may not scrape the database, mirror its contents, or use Bivigo data to build competing services without written permission.

Accuracy and your safety

Mountain conditions change. Shelters close, burn down, get renovated, change ownership, or restrict access seasonally. We do our best to keep data current, but we cannot guarantee accuracy. Always verify critical information — opening hours, capacity, access conditions, water availability — directly with the shelter operator before relying on it.

Bivigo is a planning aid, not a safety system. You are responsible for your own preparation, navigation, equipment, and decisions in the mountains. Hiking and backcountry travel carry inherent risks, including serious injury and death. Bivigo accepts no liability for loss, injury, or damage resulting from use of information on this site.

Intellectual property

Bivigo’s design, code, and data aggregation are the property of the operator. Underlying shelter information is sourced from third parties and remains their property — see Data License.

Reporting issues

Email hello@bivigo.app to report incorrect information, missing shelters, or content concerns. We’ll review and update where appropriate.

Changes

These terms may be updated as Bivigo grows. Material changes will be noted on this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic.

Data License

Bivigo aggregates shelter information from public sources. Each shelter’s data origin is listed on its detail page. The main contributing sources include:

  • KCT — Klub českých turistů (Czech Tourist Club)
  • PZS — Planinska zveza Slovenije (Slovenian Alpine Association)
  • OEAV — Österreichischer Alpenverein (Austrian Alpine Club)
  • Wikipedia contributors (Slovak huts dataset)
  • Via Czechia (bivouac data)

Map tiles are provided by OpenFreeMap (primary) and Mapy.com (fallback). Geographic context data may include contributions from OpenStreetMap contributors (© OpenStreetMap, ODbL 1.0).

Photos remain the property of their respective owners. Where possible, we link to the original source.

Reuse of Bivigo data: Bivigo holds aggregation and presentation rights over the curated database, but does not hold redistribution rights for most underlying source data. If you want to use specific shelter data in your own project, please contact us at hello@bivigo.app — we’ll either grant permission or point you to the original rights holder.
